Many young people are disengaged from society and suffer multiple and complex needs and barriers and a reluctance to be involved in ‘talk based therapies’ compounds their problems.
DRUMBEAT (Discovering Relationships Using Music Beliefs Attitudes and Thoughts) is a flexible therapeutic intervention program that responds to young people suffering issues such as isolation, stress and anxiety. Drumbeat engages young people who are most at risk through the use of music.
The Foundation brings together volunteers from our Corporate Partner network with Drumbeat facilitators to deliver the 10 week program in primary schools such as Hackham West R7. Business volunteers become consistent, positive role models and engage with young people through drumming to encourage connection and self-expression.
